Due to the COVID-19 lock-down procedures, the Earth Day 2020 exhibition, I had been designing with the Iziko South African Museum could not be assembled. The Iziko Design and Exhibition team decided that instead of abandoning the project we collaborate and create a graphic novel based on the original designs and exhibition objects. The conversion of the design was left in their very capable hands, while I took over the social media content creation and finished digitizing the dioramas. The result was Mbali's Earth Day Adventures. The tale of a young schoolgirl as she navigates the strange and complex world of climate action.
